List of courses: Span 202, Span 315, Span 304, Span 316, SBS 485S
Many of my courses taken for my major satisfied this Major Learning Outcome. However, a few in particular stand out for the requirements of this outcome. Spanish 202 improved my understanding of grammar and vocabulary which improved my interpersonal, interpretive, and presentational skills. Additionally, Spanish 304 helped me improve my reading and writing skills which allowed me to effectively interpret and analyze Spanish texts. Spanish 316 also helped me improve my presentational skills as well as my writing skills. However, it is my trip to Spain that helped me improve my skills the most. In addition to living in a Spanish speaking country, I was also taking a class that additionally helped me improve. At the end of the course, I had to present the research I did. I gave the presentation in Spanish and then answered questions, also in Spanish. The interpersonal aspect is probably where I struggled the most, as I am not fluent in the language. I hope to continue learning and improving my interpersonal skills after I get my degree.
